Sgian Dubh - Ebony Thistle Cairngorm Open Clasp Engraved Sgian Dubh - Ebony Thistle Cairngorm Open Clasp Engraved
This Sgian Dubh has a hand carved ebony handle in the shape of a thistle. The Carving is the more elaborate basket weave rather than the cross hatching on most of our straight handled Sgian Dubhs - such as the Regimental. The handle shown has no silver rivets -but these may be added. It has a semi-precious jewel in an open clasp. The Silver mounts are plain mounts engraved by hand to provide a crisp detail finish.

This Sgian Dubh has a hand carved ebony handle in the shape of a thistle. The Carving is the less elaborate cross hatching. The handle has a semi-precious jewel in an open clasp. Instead of studs this Sgian Dubh has a fine detail Celtic Band on the shutting bezel - where the handle closes over the scabbard. This Sgian Dubh has an especially slim handle as can be seen.

Sgian Dubh - Ebony St Andrew Jewelled Sgian Dubh - Ebony St Andrew Jewelled
This Sgian Dubh shows St Andrew and the Saltire and is similar to that worn by Her Majesty's Black Watch except it has a jewel in the top and the figure has been moved higher so that the Sgian Dubh can be seated lower in the hose stocking top. It is also perfectly proper for civilians to wear this. It has a semi-precious jewel, silver mounts, a fine hand carved ebony handle and a Sheffield steel blade.  Larger Image
